Exclusive Interview: 3Bubble & J. Gray

What is your name and what city do you rep?

3Bubble & J. Gray, Houston, Texas!

What is unique about you and your music?

We create “genre-less” music which means although we’re primarily hip-hop artists we incorporate all genres into our compositions.

What shaped your music?

Life experiences, vibes, good and bad decisions, cultural climate, and change.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

From the moment we decided to make music, we’ve both embraced the importance of not being hobbyist. Making music professionally is a privilege that allows us to give our message, thoughts, and talents to the world.

What type of music do you listen to?

R&B, Rap, Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul, Jazz, Opera, Gospel, Alternative Rock, and Pop mainly.

Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?

Jaden Smith

How do you prepare for your performances?

First we prepare the set-list according to the venue we’re playing. Then we go out for dinner and cocktails. Then we come back to the studio, light up the hookah and have a freestyle session. Lastly, we perform the set-list continuously until there are no blemishes.

What ignites your (song) writing flow?

The beat, definitely the beat. The kick, the bass-line, and the snare are usually the foundation from where our energy stems from. Regardless of the genre of music we’re composing to, we always connect with the beat.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

I golf. - 3Bubble

I cook. - J. Gray

We both are extremely passionate about raising our kids.

Success to you is…

3Bubble - Financial freedom. Being able to wake up every day and do what you love for a living while sustaining the relationships with the people you love the most… and retiring my parents.

J. Gray - Being able to live carefree and doing Gods will in the interim. Valuing all of the people that love you through your actions, and making them proud. Living your best life, without guilt because that is freedom. And freedom is success.

What do you wish you were told when you first started rapping that you think would help artists starting out?

Learn how to do every aspect related to your career. Outsource as little as possible, but when you do, strive to create lasting relationships. Most importantly, follow through with any commitment that you make to yours

Any upcoming projects?

We have a new album dropping May 31st (preorders are only 5 bucks and start May 11th on iTunes and Google), so be on the lookout for that quick! We are doing things differently as a group and as an independent label, Live From The Pentagon Entertainment (LFTP), so we are going after a Billboard Chart placement with this project and looking for our fans to support the efforts of us as indie artists.

Where do we find you music / music project?

We stay on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, so that is the a GREAT place to stay on top of our music. We are on all the major digital platforms Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon Music. just look for 3Bubble & J. Gray.

Fire up and kick back to the new single "R.I.P. Bob Marley" from Supathowd off his Get High With Me Vol 2 project. A single with a euphoric instrumental and dedicated to many of our favorite past times, smoking weed. Couldn't had named it a better title in my opinion.
