Exclusive interview with Carolina Ty

Greetings Carolina Ty, It a pleasure to have you exclusively for an interviewon ThisIs50! Tell us more about yourself and your music!

What’s the origin behind your name?

I got my name from my cousin, who was with me when I got my "Fayetteville" tatoo on my stomach. He made a statement like " so I guess we gotta start calling you Carolina Ty" it had a ring to it so I kept and ran with it.

How did you find your passion in making music?

As a kid in school I use to write poetry to the girls, somehow I put so much thought and rhyme to them that they turned into full songs. Lol funny how you find your talent doing s*** your not supposed too. Lol

What genre of music do you consider your work to be?

I consider myself to be a versitile artist, my genre purly depends on which Carolina Ty track you choose to listen to. I enjoy making my music as relatable as possible. With songs like Money Motivation & lil Natasha story you can fully see my range.

Who are your major influences?

My music influences are the late Tupac Shakur & Rakim both artist had a way of capturing their audience through content & wordplay.

Do you have a record label? Are you member of any music organizations?

No. I'm currently independent. But I do belong to BMI music organization. Big shoutout to BMI!

What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

If I had to pick a theme in my music useing one word I would say (LIFE MUSIC) none of that imaginary stuff that the average person doesn't experience on a day to day basis.

How has your music evolved since you first began?

My music has evolved because I have grown with my music & everyday life throws you new obstacles.
YOUR LIFE IS A ALBUM ITS UP TO YOU TO RECORD IT.

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I recently released my first debut album (Dreams Vs Reality) on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify & tidal.
I'm actually shooting my first music video to my single "Knocking Boots" staring New Jersey Model (Angelica Rosario) follow her on Instagram @rosario_080394

Any advice for other upcoming artist starting in the industry?

Ys remain humble! Stop expecting everyone to rock with you! Who is for you will be!
