Some stick to the script. Others rewrite it. Enter musician/producer Alvynne. The Lonestar native is a shrewd operator with social media, crafting awareness across platforms. His latest public entry “The Best” is a window into the expertise of Alvynne’s song-craft. We sat down with the San Marcos musician to discuss the method behind the madness & why his music is beyond the norm.
You’re currently attending college but you’d never know it by hearing your new song “The Best”. Where does your writing perspective come from?
I am a very deep thinker so I like to write about my thoughts. Sometimes I’ll write from the perspective of other people about my life.
Your Instagram features images of yourself styled in 70s style wardrobe. What’s the inspiration behind the look? Is it a serious look into your personal style or is it more satire?
It was a mix of both. I don’t dress how I did in the photo shoot but I am heavily influenced by 70s fashion.
You recently released the EP “Moment’s Notice” runs the gamut stylistically. “1998 Freestyle” lives on an entirely different planet from “LUV 4 U”. How did you select the records that made the cut?
I’m a very versatile producer so I’m able to go from one spectrum to the other. Lona and I have great chemistry so it was easy for us to make a whole project full of bangers.
What’s the next step in 2018 for Alvynne? Should we expect more compilation work or are you producing any projects for rappers/singers?
There are definitely more collaborations and projects executive produced by me.
